Topas Ecolodge 2 days & 1 night – Hiking Package

Day 1 – Leisurely drive to Topas Ecolodge, followed by a hike to a Red Dao village

 

Our luxury Topas Mountain Express will pick you up at your Hanoi hotel between 6,30 and 7,00 and your approximately 5 hour journey to Topas Ecolodge has begun.

The walk in the afternoon commences from Topas Ecolodge down a quiet road with some stunning views of the rice terraces below. You then begin ascending slightly towards Lech village where you will visit a local town house, meet the friendly Red Dao hosts and experience their daily way of life. The Red Dao women, as their ancestors, have both hair and eyes brows shaved off and wear very colorful clothing. They are famous for their natural indigo blue dyes and intricate embroidery.

 

On the way back to Topas Ecolodge, you will walk on small trails, passing rice terraces and crossing a suspension bridge, where you can take some great pictures of the impressive landscape. Your guide will tell you about the interesting cultivating culture of the local farming communities.

 

Back at Topas Ecolodge, you may want to relax and unwind with a herbal bath at the hilltop spa.

Day 2 – Explore remote Sapa – Return to Hanoi

 

Enjoy a healthy mountain-style breakfast at the Stilt House Restaurant or at the terrace. Your adventure into Hoang Lien National Park starts at 9,00am as you depart on a trek towards Sin Chai village. You are now “off the beaten track”, enjoying the amazing views of towering mountains, waterfalls and deep valleys. The trail will soon lead you into the Red Dao village of Nam Nhiu. Here you will meet the villagers, enjoy a cup of green tea in their home and learn about their daily way of life. Leaving the village behind, you will turn into a small dirt trail and soon be inspired by the marvelous view of the rice valleys dotted with bamboo huts, which are used by local farmers as overnight lodging in harvesting days. Passing the rice terraces and river you will walk on a quiet road for a while before arriving at Nam Cang village; this is a truly authentic village experience where the Red Dao continue to live much the same way they have for centuries. At the end of the village you will come to the river’s edge, where you will cross the famous suspended bridge that leads to the whimsical Topas Riverside Lodge. A home cooked local lunch is served at Nam Cang Riverside Lodge.

 

The afternoon brings an opportunity to explore this small Red Dao minority village in more detail and interact with its beautiful inhabitants. Nam Cang is located in a very remote area of Sapa and the Red Dao women wear some of the most colorful and diverse costumes of all Vietnam’s ethnic groups. Herbal baths, local medicine and embroidery are some of the things that the Red Dao are very skilled at. Accompanied by your guide, you will explore and learn how the villagers make writing paper from rice, silver jewelry and embroidery.

At 14:15, your Topas Mountain Express transfer is waiting to take you back to Hanoi.
