Day 1 – Drive to Topas Ecolodge and hike to a neighboring Red Dao village
Our luxury Topas Mountain Express will pick you up at your Hanoi hotel between 6,30 and 7,00 and your approximately 5 hour journey to Topas Ecolodge has begun.
After checking into your bungalow, sit back and enjoy the beautiful and peaceful view of the surrounding mountains and valleys from your private balcony.
The walk in the afternoon starts at Topas Ecolodge on a quiet road with a great view of the rice terraces below; you will then slightly ascend towards Lech village. Once in the village you will visit a traditional wooden family home, meet the friendly Red Dao hosts and experience their daily way of life.
The Red Dao women, as their ancestors, have both hair and eyes brows shaved and wear very colorful customs. They are famous for their beautiful and intricate embroidery. On the way back you’ll enjoy the picturesque trails and rice terraces and you’ll cross a unique suspension bridge which is a great photo opportunity of your adventure within this amazing natural environment. Your knowledgeable guide will provide insight into the interesting agricultural lifestyle of the local farming community.

Day 2 – Explore the remote and pristine Sapa
Enjoy our great mountain breakfast and prepare for today’s walk. At 8:30, you will commence your journey of exploration with a transfer that takes you deeper into Hoang Lien National Park to the trek starting point near Sin Chai village. You are now “off the beaten track” enjoying beautiful views of towering mountains, waterfalls and the deep valleys. The trails will soon lead you to the Red Dao village of Nam Nhiu, here you will meet the villagers, enjoy a cup of green tea in their home, and learn about their daily lifestyle and customs. Leaving the village behind, you will turn into a small dirt trail and soon be inspired by the marvelous view of the rice valley dotted with bamboo huts, which are used by local farmers as overnight lodge during harvest season. Passing the rice terraces and over a river you will walk on a quiet road for a while before arriving at Nam Cang village. Your lunch is served at Nam Cang Riverside Lodge, settled in the midst of a breathtaking rainforest on the river’s edge. Nam Cang village is located in one of the most remote areas of Sapa. The Red Dao women wear some of the most colorful and diverse costumes of all Vietnam’s ethnic groups. Herbal baths, local medicine and embroidery are some of the things that the Red Dao are very skilled at. Accompanied by your guide, you will explore the village and learn how the local people make writing rice paper, jewelry and embroidery. You may also want freshen up with a swim in the river.
At 14:50, you will have a transfer back to Topas Ecolodge where you may want to book a traditional Red Dao herbal bath or enjoy a relaxing massage at the spa.

Day 3 – Leaving the mountain and return to Hanoi
The morning is at your leisure at Topas Ecolodge; relax by the pool or borrow one of our complimentary mountain bikes and explore the surrounding area. You can also take our scheduled complimentary shuttle bus to Sapa to visit the town or book a half day tour to explore the highest peak of Indochina, Mt. Fansipan (3.143m) by the newly launched cable car.
Topas Mountain Express departs from Sapa at 13:15; from Topas Ecolodge at 14:30 and returns you to your hotel in Hanoi.
